Christmas Party

We had our school Christmas Party this weekend.

I tried to find a nasty Christmas sweater to wear but it was impossible to find on short notice in Japan.

We went ice skating and then to a Chanko Nabe restaurant (which is apparently what Sumo Wrestlers eat).

My student Tomoko and her daughter Chiharu. Shes the one from the pictures with my Dad at the Halloween party and from went we went to the amusement park.

Santa giving our presents. I brought a roll of toilet paper with the Japanese 10,000 yen bill imprinted on it. The guy who got it seemed less than excited, but I thought it was hilarious.
At the Chanko Nabe, you pretty much just boil tons of vegetables and meat in a big pot then eat it with some sauce. Its starting to really amaze me how Japanese food in America is only Sushi, but in Japan its actually only about 10% sushi and the other 90% is just as good in my opinion.
My student Hiroaki on the left (nicest guy in Japan, seriously he asks me out to the eat with him after every class with him and his coworkers and always picks up the tab), and Noburo on the right (aka chief red face part deux).
My student at the bottom left Masafumi (hes won the gold metal at wrestling for his weight class like the past 3 years in a row).
It was our school and another school combined, so we had about 70 students show up.
My student Makuto when I realized from across the room he had a Texas Flag on his imitation boyscout uni (seriously it had all this crazy English like "enjoy camping style" and stuff on it)

At some point I taught my students how to make the "bloods" gang sign. The reception was extremely positive.
After the party we went to Karaoke with like 25 people. I started the night off right with some Queen "Fat Bottom Girls" (Young MC Bust a Move wasn't working for some reason).

My Osaka friends MV (on the left) Charlotte (it was her Birthday) and my buddy Robbie. We went for some Mexican which was fantastic. Can't wait for the real stuff in a couple of weeks though.
