So this weekend I had a barbeque in Osaka with some of the JET (Japanese English Teacher) at my school friends. Here is an overview of the setup. The grill was built into the table. The main things we made were: Pork, Beef, Fish, Eel (Unagi), Mushrooms, and Corn. BTW corn is not easy to eat chopsticks with.
On a side note my Dad asked me often I use chopsticks the other day. When I thought about it I realized I pretty much use them all the time now, I only use a fork or spoon when its required by the type of food, i.e. curry or spaghetti.

At the end we made (and by "we" I mean "they") flaming Chinese noodles. I wasn't that impressed, they were not that spicy.

Found a four leaf clover. First time I've ever seen one in real life. Amazingly the four leaf clover is also lucky here in Japan, and it has nothing to do with the Irish influence. Some Japanese actually think the four leaf clover thing is a Japanese creation.

So with the lucky four leaf clover, of course I wished for "World Pace". Seriously we need to Pace ourselves....

After The barbaque, the next morning I went back to Osaka to check out Den Den town. Den Den town is a section of Osaka known for its cutting edge really cheap electronic stores. So its kind of picture of heaven for me.
This is a random store I walked into, its like Fry's Electronics, times 1000.

A video game store I walked into. Just thought this picture was so visually shocking I had to take it...

More Den Den.

The main street of Den Den.

After Den Den I headed to Osaka Castle Park. I stumbled upon this information booth. Read the part in English, I think it gives a semi-interesting view into the perception of the war from the Japanese.

From my understanding basically Japan thinks a. War is terrible b. There were terrible things done to us c. we did terrible things. I'm not going to get into a commentary or anything, but I did think it was worth showing.

So we lit some fireworks in the park after dark.

Some nice views of Osaka and the Castle at night...

You use corn to eat chopsticks? This is a new concept for me.
