My job while I’m over there will be to teach English to Japanese people. The first question I get from most people is “Do you know Japanese?”. My response… “I know 5 words, so this could be interesting”. Also considering I’m a 6’0 red-haired white guy, I figure I’ll experience at least a few things worth writing about.
I’m using this blog really for two purposes:
1. To let my friends and family back home experience a little bit of what I’m going thru with the pictures and stories I upload.
2. Motivation for me to do things worth writing about. If I write for 3 straight weeks about doing nothing but working and sitting around my shoebox of an apartment, I want people to call me out on it.
That’s all for now. I go to Vancouver for training March 12th – 16th. I’ll try to get an update once I arrive in Japan with all the pictures of my new apartment and such.

It begins...
I leave for Hirikata Osaka Japan on March 18th 2007 (Here is a map for anyone who doesn’t know where Osaka is). Osaka is the 2nd largest city in Japan. It’s on about the same latitude as Dallas, but doesn’t really get as hot in the summer. If you count the population of the entire Kansi region (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara) its over 20 million people. So imagine taking the entire state of Texas and putting it in the DFW area, that’s what my life is about to be like.

Hey buddy, I can't wait to see what you start doing over there. I'm pumped about maybe joining you. Enjoy the partay tonight and be safe. Don't let Shep drive drunk.
Dude,
Mavs get killed in the 1st game you are gone for, and end their 17 game winning streak. Bad sign. Come back.
