I've taken a ton of pictures and really wanted to upload them to show everyone my apartment and city, except my digital camera cord is in my luggage which has yet to get here. So here are a couple of pictures I took from the camera on my computer.
This is the view outside my window, the streets here are sooo cramped...
This is the top of my head looking at my apartment.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with the size of my apartment. I'd say total its about 30 ft by 15 ft. Its got a nice porch and a loft with a sleeping space on top (notice the ladder).I had my first day at the school yesterday. I was met by the teacher I'm replacing at 10 yesterday. We went for coffee at the local Starbucks (they are everywhere here too). As we started talking I found out 1. he is from Houston 2. went to Westbury Christian High school 3. OU for college 4. he even used to go to ACU for summer camps back in high school. Small world hugh,
I'll be shadowing the teacher I'm replacing for the next week, then I take over full time next Tuesday. I'm a little nervous, but starting to get the hang of teaching English somewhat. I'm supposed to have the student talk for 80% of the class, so its really more of facilitating conversation than teaching.
I hope to get my camera cord on Thursday then I will be able to update with my pictures.
Today is a national holiday so I'm headed to downtown Osaka to met some new people (English speakers) and hang out in the city.
